RO Servicing (Reverse Osmosis)

RO Servicing

What is an RO Service?

To efficiently and safely service the consumable parts and engineering parts of a reverse osmosis water TDS reducer. To sanitise the whole system to rid the system of any infections including biofilm, legionella and pseudonyms.

Why have it done?

Our expert guidance on Reverse Osmosis systems would be to have your machine serviced every 12 months to safely ensure it is fully working and your water is efficient enough for your chairs and autoclaves, we have over 15 years of experience and have found that not keeping on top of the sanitization can lead to issues

The system

Depending on the location of the system the water softening factory will consists of:

  1. TAC scale prevention pod containing TAC crystals or water
  2. Reverse osmosis main unit containing ,sediment filters, carbon filters and
  3. De-ioniser cartridges to reduce the tds for sterilization
  4. Storage

Method

Preparation:

The system should be fully isolated by turning off the water supply, power and tank valve.

The contents of the tank should be emptied and the pressure brought up to 10 psi pressure.

Check for any worn pipes.

Record the city water TDS reading

Remove all old filters, membranes and de ioniser cartridges and discard safely. Change all worn piping with new piping.

Any existing TAC cartridges should be removed and sanitised with Peroxy Ag.

In the first pod (sediment) place a litre of Peroxy Ag.

Run the system with the cold water feed open until the water reaches the tap. Take a Peroxy indicator strip and ensure the indicator shows a 600 pm peroxide reading at the tap.

The peroxide solution would of travelled through all the pipework and valves and also the mouth of the tank and faucet

Complete service certificate and forward to the practice.
